Whirlwind November

November was a really busy month. We kicked it off staying in London at The Malmaison and going shopping at Alexander McQueen for my Birthday handbag. Even though my Birthday is in September I’ve been putting off buying a bag, worried about the cost. But I finally got frog-marched to McQueen’s in Mayfair and told I couldn’t leave until I bought something – so I bought a bag and a bracelet 🙂 It’s the most gorgeous shop, with a great selection of the collection and accessories, and we were offered a seat and a glass of champagne, which we took them up on. The bag is amazing, and even the packaging was gorgeous.

We also went to a charity quiz night with some clients, and had lunch at Murano. I went with my mum and aunt to Harrods for a lovely pedicure and I did some planning with my new wall planner, as well as cooking and labelling a million meals for the freezer.

We also did a small impromptu no-hen-hen do for Nikki and I went with my friend Mel to a chemo session.

We rounded the month off with cocktails at the Mayfair Hotel and dinner with Madge’s family and I got ready to fly to Antigua for a holiday with my parents. Whirlwind November indeed, on top of a really busy time at work and continuing train nightmares. I need to slow down…and stop spending!

Harrods Haul

Forgot I bought some new cosmetics when I was a Harrods, so looking forward to sorting out my manky make up bag this weekend. I love having a clean new bag and new things to try. I tend to always buy Clinique for the skin products – moisturiser and foundation and their new chubby lipstick pencils are great.

Summer toes

On the final day of my crazy week I met my Mum at Harrods for a Birthday treat of a pedicure at the lovely Urban Retreat spa. After a really tough few weeks Mum needed to relax and have some fun, and it was the perfect way to end the week.

We do this about once or twice a year, and it was fab to sit back and relax in the big comfy chairs, drinking tea and chatting. At Urban Retreat they do the best pedicure ever. It lasts a full hour, and they take so much care over every aspect of it.

A week is a long time…

It was a great week off work, though hanging out with nothing in particular to do took quite a bit of getting used to. We had to keep reminding ourselves that it was OK to Just Do Nothing.

In between long bouts of Doing Nothing I fitted in a visit to the garden centre, got my nails done, visited a local Vinyard, lunched at Nobu, did a trip to Harrods, a visit to the parents, celebrated my birthday, structured a new website and finished off the week of with a long lunch at our favourite restaurant, followed by cocktails and fun.

So really, we did quite A Lot while doing lots of Doing Nothing, when you look at it like that.
